Infant Feeding Updates: Baby Friendly in Practice

A focused, evidence-informed CPD update for professionals supporting infant feeding in real-world practice

Are you keeping up — or just keeping going?

You qualified. You trained. You care deeply about the families you support.

But infant feeding guidance evolves. Recommendations shift. And in the middle of a busy shift, a complex caseload, and competing demands on your time — staying genuinely up to date can feel almost impossible.

And here's the part nobody says out loud:

Many experienced professionals quietly worry that their knowledge isn't as current as it should be. That they're giving advice based on what they learned years ago. That guidance has moved on — and they haven't quite caught up.

If that resonates — this training is for you.

For professionals already supporting infant feeding, staying up to date — and confident in applying guidance in practice — is essential. Confidently support families with up-to-date, Baby Friendly aligned care—while strengthening your professional credibility, ethical practice, and client outcomes.

This focused 3-hour update is designed specifically for practitioners working with families, combining current evidence with practical application you can use immediately in your sessions.

Aligned with the UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative and key principles within the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners CERPs framework.

About louise

Louise is a Registered Midwife, Registered Nurse, and Newborn Breastfeeding Specialist with 18 years of clinical experience supporting mothers, babies, and the professionals who care for them.

After years working in neonatal care and then midwifery, Louise founded the Breastfeeding Educator Hub with one clear mission: to raise the standard of infant feeding support through accessible, evidence-based education — for both families and the professionals who support them.

Everything Louise teaches is rooted in current UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative guidance, real-world clinical experience, and a deep understanding of the pressures that healthcare professionals face every single day.

Louise's expertise lies specifically in BFI standards, hospital-based infant feeding care, and the systems and structures that shape the support families receive. This is the knowledge that lactation consultants and community practitioners most often identify as a gap in their own practice — and it is precisely what this training delivers.
